Crowdsourcing Mornings: StarFell Issue 2: Adventure Into Vintage Sci-fi Horror

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Tucked away in the foothills of the Appalachians lies the sleepy hamlet of StarFell. A town where nothing of interest ever seems to happen. The people seem quite happy and content as they move about their eventless day to day lives. Looming ominously over the town sits the now formed hillside of an ancient meteor crater. The meteor, planted like a seed, and imbedded deep within the granite underneath StarFell awakens with a cosmic lifeforce. For centuries this visitor from deep space slowly spread its roots into the nature and local wildlife, mutating any living organism that wanders within range of its energy.

Now, the town where nothing of interest ever seems to happen has become overrun with horrifying monsters, haunting specters, and disfigured blood hungry mutants. Orchestrating this chaos is an eccentric wealthy family of loners, The Voltaires, a family with dark secrets and an even darker agenda. With the town of StarFell rapidly falling into complete destruction it’s only hope is a rag tag group of kids to save the day. Using their quick wits, ingenuity, and a small arsenal of homemade weapons infused with the power of a meteor, the children of StarFell must fight through their darkest nightmares to save the town…and hopefully the world.
