Crowdsourcing Mornings: Color Me Blue Book

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Exploring the whole box of crayons…

Greenleigh Sue discovers the potential of color by creatively using crayons of every hue. After losing her favorite blue crayon, she wonders if stretching reality with other colors might create more unusual and inspiring art.

Color outside the lines with our little artist as she learns about using the power of light and imagination to sketch her new favorite masterpiece.

Color Me Blue was illustrated using watercolor, pencil and marker as an effort to showcase the beauty of a timeless pastime: creating raw art in a studio. Working without an “edit-undo” button, I am thrilled to incorporate “little mistakes” into the artwork as part of the creative process. Griffin (my son) even colored on some of the pages during creation (even the cover)… needless to say, I left it.

I will be using the majority of the kickstarter funds to support the first large professional print run to share quality hardcover copies with all of you. The remaining funds will be used to cover the additional creation costs of editing, ISBN, shipping, art supplies, scanning, print proofs, etc. Color Me Blue is completely finished: all the artwork is complete and the book has been edited and typeset. All files are with the printer for proofing! We are ready to print as soon as we get funded!

As of February 22nd, this project has raised $5,700 of their $6,000 goal. This project has 5 days left to raise the $6,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $10, you will get one PDF book.  For a pledge of $25, you will get one hardcover book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/atreecouldbe-gina/color-me-blue?
