Meet Solo V2, from the team that brought you the first open source FIDO2 security key right here on Kickstarter!  You may not know until it is too late, and because security solutions are often expensive, all you can do is hope. But that doesn’t need to be the case.  You may be an army of one, but you can very easily protect yourself from a compromised account by employing a Solo V2 security key.

Take Solo V2 with you. It fits on your key chain, providing you with additional security, wherever you go.  Solo V2 greatly reduces the risk of security breaches, as over 80% of all breaches are caused by passwords compromised through phishing email attacks.  Preventing breaches can save the average corporation millions of dollars. Eliminating phishing can save you from major headaches and personal security concerns.

Solo V2 is a complete redesign of our original FIDO2 security key.

  • The hardware is more physically robust
  • NFC performance is increased and uses a brand new microcontroller by NXP with enhanced security features.
  • The firmware has been rewritten in Rust to be more modular/reusable by the community and to reduce the attack surface.

Our goal with Solo V2 is to harden physical security of the device itself while providing all the protections that come with 2FA or passwordless login.

As of February 1st, this project has raised $200,000 of their $5,000 goal.
