Crowdsourcing Mornings: Katy Has Two Grampas

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at: https://geekalabama.com/media-kit-pr/geek-alabama-crowdsourcing-guidelines

This 32 page fully illustrated hardback book will be a wonderful way to let children of LGBTQIA+ families see themselves represented, on the page. My father, Robert Schanke who is one of the grampas mentioned in the title, and I, Julie Schanke Lyford, have co-written one of the very first children’s picture books to feature Gay grampas!

Where is the money going? We are using it to help bring this book we’ve dreamed of publishing for YEARS to life! A large portion goes to pay for the illustrator so that she can create all of the original artwork for the book. Also, even though we have a publisher, we still have to pay for things like the printing cost, the cover design and the typesetting of the book. We want this to look fantastic, and so we are bringing in the experts to help us make this a professionally produced book.

There are many different levels to pledge and MANY fun rewards. The different levels feature everything from having the child of your choice included in the final book to fabulous pride themed cheesecake from Muddy Paws Cheesecake.

As of June 24th, this project has raised $7,000 of their $8,000 goal. This project has 20 days left to raise the $8,000 or it will not be funded.  For a pledge of $25, you will get a signed book.  For a pledge of $50, you will get two signed books.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/katyhastwogrampas/katy-has-two-grampas?
