I wanted to write this about what are my thoughts about the 2026 midterm elections? And my predictions on the results for the US Congress and for the state of Alabama.

First off, the US House will be taken back by the Democrats, there is no doubt about that. I predict the Democrats will have around 230 seats in the US House.  And when Democrats do take back the house in the next Congress beginning in January 2027, I hope they will be ruthless!

I want to see numerous investigations, committee hearings, and bills being passed out of the US House that will help the average American. Yes, President Trump will veto any bills he doesn’t like. But just passing important bills that will make health care more affordable, lower the cost of gas in groceries, help people earn more, and other important legislation that will help the lower half of America is important.

As for the US Senate, I predict the Democrats will take back the US Senate as well. I predict Democrats will have 53 seats in the US Senate. And just like the US House, I want to see the US Senate be ruthless as well!  I want to see investigations, committee hearings, and bills being passed to help the average American.

It’s just that simple. Congress needs to work for the American who does not have much power in their lives, instead of helping Millionaires and billionaires who have all the power right now.  

As for the state of Alabama, and I’m talking about the Statewide races, sadly I predict Republicans will win them all.

Because it’s really simple, this is Alabama. We know Alabama is heavily Republican. And even with all the craziness going on with our economy right now, it will not be enough to help Democrats.

One of the biggest factors that hurts Democrats in Alabama is straight party ticket voting. And many people just fill in the bubble for Republicans, vote for any amendments, and go turn the ballot in. When around 70% of Alabamians voted for a straight party ticket in the last regular election, it’s just a hard feat for Democrats to overcome.

I really like how Doug Jones ran his campaign, and I hope there’s an upset. But I think it’s highly likely there will be no upset, and Tommy Tuberville will win.

The same thing goes for every other Statewide Democrat candidate. The only significant race where Democrats could win in Alabama tonight, would be the US House District 2 race where Shomari Figures is running for reelection. I would love to see that upset.

So there you have it, those are my predictions as we watch the results come in tonight. Of course I’m hoping I’m wrong.
