Remembering The Leprechaun In Mobile On St. Patrick’s Day

Picture1qafew

Well, today is St. Patrick’s Day, and the most famous thing about this day in Alabama has to be that Crichton Leprechaun that some people found in Mobile.  You know the story, in March 2006 a reporter from the NBC affiliate WPMI-TV was called out to the neighborhood after hearing reports of a real leprechaun.  Yes, some people claimed that a leprechaun was in the trees, and then we saw the amateur sketch of the leprechaun, and the rest is internet history.

Of course, some people had some theories about this leprechaun, including someone who was a “crackhead.”  And of course, I loved the guy who had that special leprechaun flute.  And some people thought there was a pot of gold under that tree.  Yep, this is one of those stories you will only see in Alabama.  Enjoy!

And of course, who can remember the leprechaun song from The Gregory Brothers!

Enjoy your St. Patrick’s Day!
