Welcome to the Good News Fridays segment! Each week here on Geek Alabama, Good News Fridays will feature something good, wholesome, positive, and overall something great. After a long and stressful week, we all need something good to read or watch on Fridays! Enjoy a heartwarming post below.
Nora Gibson who is a senior at The Donoho School has started the Friends Of Nora’s Little Free Pantry.
She says:
Over the past three years, I’ve completed 80 hours of community service, and giving back has become something that’s very important to me. As I approached my senior year, I knew I wanted to take on a project that would make a lasting impact on my community. That’s how my Little Free Pantry project began!
Since June, I’ve been working hard to turn this idea into a reality. My goal was to create a place where individuals and families in our community could easily access food and other basic necessities whenever they need a little extra help.
I’m so excited that my Little Free Pantry is now located at Anniston Public Library on the Wilmer Avenue Side!
One of my biggest hopes is for this pantry to become a lasting resource for our community, and that’s where your support can make a difference!
Individuals, families, businesses, and organizations can help by dropping off unopened, nonperishable food items or hygiene products directly at the pantry.
Every contribution, big or small, helps make a difference in the lives of those in our community who need a little extra support. I’m so grateful for everyone who has helped make this project possible, and I’m excited to see the impact we can make!
Monetary donations are also appreciated and will be used to purchase items to keep the pantry stocked. Monetary donations can be made through:
