Beau’s Law took effect on October 1, the first new companion-animal welfare law Alabama has passed in 26 years. That morning, Rep. Phillip Ensler, who sponsored the bill, sat down with us in the Ronnie Hornbuckle Haven with Wendy Montealegre of Tails from Alabama and Florence City Councilwoman Chapel King.
