The Film Production Club was founded in 2023, and each year aims to produce a story that is better than the last. this student led organization has an aim to create and mold the future generations of storytellers while also spreading the importance of the art of film as a medium for storytelling.
This year, as the founder of the club is graduating, this project is even more special. It serves as the transition project from the past leadership to the future. Members have grown to be placed in higher crew positions in this project than they have held in previous years, such as the director for this project Brenna Motta. Third-year member Brenna is a junior majoring in Film and is excited to have the opportunity to direct, “I am most excited for any chance to be creative and bringing the unknown creature to life on the screen!” The story was written by our very own Danielle Sorensen, who is a sophomore Film major and second year member of the club.
This story focuses on the idea of struggling with mental health and the battle between the reality that a person feels versus the reality they live in. However, this story aims to crash the two ideas together in a way where the protagonist and the audience simply have no way of knowing.
This project’s producer is Keyon-Dre Swift, the current Executive Coordinator of the Film Production Club. Keyon-Dre is a senior majoring in Integrated Studies who is the founding member of the Film Production Club. “Some of the objectives I have for this film is to inspire the students and crew to be bold in creative choices. I think that the art department will have a lot of fun with makeup on this one.”
As of February 13th, this project has raised $1,400 of their $1,500 goal. This project has 12 days left to raise the $1,500 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $5, you will get a social media thank you. For a pledge of $25, you will get a special thanks in the credits.
