On the morning after Christmas, 1947, New Yorkers woke to find the world’s largest city buried under twenty-six inches of snow. Zero warning, no time to prepare, and no way out. This was the blizzard that silenced a city that never sleeps, and it struck with almost no one seeing it coming.
