Hello! I’m Leikya, an artist from the UK! I originally started designing cute accessories and artwork in 2018, and even started here on Kickstarter with my Astrogirls project. For my sixth Kickstarter project I’m excited to introduce you to my soft and fluffy Astronimals plushies!
This collection is a combination of cute animals and celestial themes. The characters were first introduced in 2020 and have featured many times since! I wanted to bring them to life as plushies, a cute and elegant decoration as well as being perfect cuddle friends!
I spent the past 3 years working with my manufacturer on many, many samples until we perfected them! A variety of materials and shapes were trialled until we reached the ultimate squish perfection. You can see some of the stages below!
The friends are a group of aquatic creatures who love to swim through the galaxy!
YOMI – the quiet manta ray: Yomi is a gentle giant who loves to spend his time floating around the deep ocean waters. He carries the dark night sky, and will lend his back to his mini friends for journeys.
YURA – the gentle whale shark: Despite her intimidating size, Yura is a kind and gentle whale shark. Full of smiles, her favourite pastime is swimming through fluffy clouds. She loves giving her mini friends rides across the sky.
NOVA – the shy starfish: Shiny and shy, Nova prefers solitude but always has time for his friends. He spends his days sunbathing on rocks.
SENA – the clumsy jellyfish: Nervous and clumsy, Sena is often bumping into things. She likes to stay close to shorelines to peer at the life passing by.
YOKO – the screaming stingray: Noisy and sweet, Yoko is the loudest of the friends. When on her own, she enjoys napping in the sand.
