Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment! Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others. The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal. Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Harryconcokrow is a dark, modern fairy tale about loss of innocence and the monsters we create.
A chaotic mother, Megan (Vicky Knight, Dirty God, Silver Haze) with addiction and mental health problems, takes her highly imaginative daughter, Ella (8), who she has not seen for some time, to the woods. Eventually, shy Ella is won over by Megan, who tells her about Harryconcokrow, a mythical monster that lives in the woods, and the mother and daughter grow closer as the day goes on. However, an aggrieved figure from Megan’s murky past, Stevie (Conor McCarron, Neds, Dog Days), arrives looking for revenge. When Stevie attacks Megan, Ella, who retreats into her wild imagination, reacts in a way Megan never could have anticipated, and Harryconcokrow makes a shocking appearance…
“I love documentaries and intend to keep making them. Directing drama in tandem with docs has been a long term ambition and after reading Bex and Christian’s brilliant script, I knew instantly that it needed to be seen on the screen. Funding for short films is thin on the ground and crowdfunding has made the majority of the films I’ve directed possible, from Invisible Britain back in 2015 through to Tish in 2023. We know that for many people money is tight at the moment and appreciate all and any support to bring Harryconcokrow to life via Kickstarter.” — Paul Sng
The film will be shot on location in Edinburgh in late September and we will be working with a crew where a minimum of 75% of people are from backgrounds underrepresented in the film and TV industry across class, race, gender, disability and LGBTQIA+.

As of July 20th, this project has raised $7,000 of their $12,952 goal. This project has 13 days left to raise the $12,952 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $13, you will get a social media thank you. For a pledge of $33, you will get a private screener link.
