Crowdsourcing Mornings: PRISM Book

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Hi! I’m Yana, also known as Cosmic Spectrum, and I’m an independent artist from Canada. I often make artwork that reflects vintage and dark academia aesthetics, which make me temporarily forget the constant rush of digital devices and social media in today’s fast-paced world.

I’m so excited to announce this Kickstarter campaign for my new book PRISM: The Art Journey of Cosmic Spectrum. This is my most ambitious artbook project to date, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with 3dtotal in its creation. 3dtotal has published some of my favorite artbooks, and I know that together we will create my most beautiful and unique book so far.

What makes PRISM a special book is that it will not only include a collection of my art, but also an extensive look at my work-flow across multiple mediums, plus rough work and sketches that I have not shared before. There will also be a detailed timeline of my artistic development, and the many highs and lows of my professional and personal art journey thus far, including advice and tips I’ve picked up along the way.

Of course, I have created brand-new art specially for the book, including step-by-step tutorials and behind-the-scenes insights into my creative process. One of the tutorials I’m most excited about is the breakdown of my digital comic-page creation from start to finish

As of August 4th, this project has raised $85,000 of their $24,301 goal. This project has 8 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $35, you will get one unsigned book.  For a pledge of $39, you will get one signed book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
