Crowdsourcing Mornings: Edgewood String Quartet Debut Album Recording

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at:

We are the Edgewood String Quartet, and for a year and a half, we have been bringing you music of all genres performed as a classical string quartet. We have had a lot of fun playing music by Beethoven, Vivaldi, Taylor Swift, BTS, The Clash, Coldplay, Joe Hisaishi, The Rolling Stones, and more. Now, we’re excited to bring you a recorded album featuring all original arrangements that have NEVER been heard or performed before!

Our album will include artists like Lizzo, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande and more! Hopefully, this will be the first of many albums, but we thought our first one would be some of our – and your – favorite pop songs.

Here is a breakdown of what the funds will go towards:

  • To bring the amazing recording engineer/film composer extraordinaire Aaron Tsang to Atlanta
  • Recording equipment rental
  • Recording studio rental
  • Copyright fees

Thank you so much for your donation! We can’t wait to share these tracks with you!

As of June 22nd, this project has raised $4,000 of their $5,000 goal. This project has 26 days left to raise the $5,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $20, you will get one digital album download.  For a pledge of $55, you will get one ticket to an upcoming performance.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
