Crowdsourcing Mornings: Dads Give Birth Too!

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Hi! My name is Kayden and I am a black transgender educator, advocate and father.

I work tirelessly in educating, and am hoping to bring visibility to the often invisible transgender community. My goal to to be able to use education to bring equity, diversity and inclusion to the transgender community – especially those who are “Seahorse” Dads, or trans masculine individuals who give birth.

Having experienced many different obstacles in life from being black, gay, trans and a seahorse dad, I know how important it is to bring visibility and education to topics that are not being talked about nearly enough. It is extremely important to me that my children grow up in a world where they are not constantly facing oppression, racism, sexism, bullying, etc.

Writing has also been a passion of mine, but I allowed fear to prevent me from sharing that passion with the world. However, after a recent cancer diagnosis, I realized how short life truly is and decided that it is time to achieve my goals and set the example for his two daughters, Azaelia and Jurnee that you can do anything in this world if you put your mind to it.

As of March 4th, this project has raised $4,900 of their $14,939 goal. This project has 8 days left to raise the $14,939 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $40, you will get one signed hardcover book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
