Crowdsourcing Mornings: Divided Desert

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

After jumping the U.S.-Mexican border, a couple are rerouted deeper into the dark desert putting their life and relationship to the test as they journey through a dangerous terrain filled with paths of signs of past crossers.

When plans to get picked up by an American smuggler are disrupted by Border Patrols, a MEXICAN COUPLE Elena (29) and Mateo (31) are REROUTED further into high mountains ranges covered in mesquite and cacti, in what becomes a long JOURNEY through a DARK and DESOLATE TERRAIN. As they cross paths of PAST CROSSERS , we explore the external elements of border crossing which illuminate the BORDER CRISIS from many perspectives, and makes their peril all the more REAL. Soon their worn-out flimsy shoes are no match for the THORNY DRY SAND that pierce foam. A HOSTILE DESERT puts their RELATIONSHIP and LOYALTY to the test when arguments intensify and SECRETS get REVEALED causing a MORAL DILEMMA, where LIFE and DEATH situation force quick decision making, including the COYOTE herself who EVADES patrols and risks her own FREEDOM to go into the desert to find them. Divided Desert in short, is about a REVELATION that comes out organically in the present action of the story, which escalates the film and raises the stakes. It is where SACRIFICE and HOPE meet an UNFORGIVING TERRAIN.
