Welcome to Roadscapes Wednesday, each week this post will talk about roads and infrastructure related topics. I am called the “road geek” for a good reason, I love roads and love talking about roads!
Cars dominate US city streets, and there’s no better example than Atlanta, GA. Streets in Atlanta are designed for getting cars around as fast as possible. The result? Pedestrian deaths in ATL are twice the national average. But the city is trying to change that, starting with Peachtree Street.
Also, how is the best way to design a street that works for everyone from cars to pedestrians? Enjoy two videos from PBS Terra and City Beautiful!
