Four Best Pet-Friendly Vacation Ideas

When you’re ready to travel and want to take family members with four feet on the next adventure, a pet-friendly vacation spot is critical. For those who love the great outdoors and want to do some camping, look for sites away from nature preserves. Any facility that includes protected species may incorporate a “no dogs” policy to reduce worries.

Camping

Loading your people, pets, and camping gear will not take long, and your time in the woods or meadow will give you great peace. For the best pet-friendly campsites in California, check out the area around Big Sur, such as the Riverside Campgrounds.

Here, you can rent a cabin, hook up your RV, or set up your tent and completely enjoy the great outdoors. There will be pet-friendly spots on the beach and even some whale watching options.

Head up to Huntington Beach on your camping trip through California for dog-friendly beaches and delicious food. You can even take your pup to the Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar for a treat that will satisfy both of you.

Rent an Airbnb

For a relaxing stretch of time in a lovely city, consider a trip to Wilmington, North Carolina. You can enjoy long walking trails, a trip to a dog-friendly beach, and many shops that welcome friendly dogs for a sit-down meal and some North Carolina hospitality.

Albuquerque, New Mexico is also loaded with dog-friendly amenities. Go in October and enjoy the balloon festival, or visit in the spring and enjoy a long hike up the La Luz trail so you can enjoy the Sandia Mountain Range. Many of the restaurants in this city offer dog-friendly patios as well, so come hungry and bring your fur-baby!

If you’re on the east coast, find a hideaway on Edisto Island off the coast of South Carolina. This island is extremely dog friendly and happy to have you and your pup for a stay. Edisto Beach will provide each of you with a beautiful view of the water and a fun time together.

Book a Long Hotel Stay

You’ll find many dog-friendly hotel stays around Lake Tahoe, particularly at the southern end. Stop for a craft beer at one of the many breweries, spend some time with your pup on the patio, and plan a hike up the Rubicon Trail.

Of course, if you’ve got a dog that loves the nicer things, book a stay at a boutique hotel in Fort Myers, Florida! You’ll find several dog parks right on the beach, or visit one of the many regional parks centered on the water and happy to welcome your pup.

Seattle is a very dog-friendly city. You can bring your umbrella and your dog can enjoy wearing their raincoat as you stroll through Magnuson Park and the Washington Park Arboretum, and several hotels in Seattle are pet-friendly.

Rent an RV

To see some of the most beautiful sites in America, rent an RV, and hit the road. Many RV rental owners will meet you at your vacation site, or connect with you along the road so your partner can drive the second vehicle and you can enjoy both a roomy spot to sleep and a small vehicle to help you get into town.

Carefully review the RV rental rules to make sure that your pet is the proper

for the rig that you rent. If your pet is small, make sure that the RV owners haven’t treated for mice or other pests recently to reduce the risk of accidental poisoning. Make sure that your pet gets plenty of exercise and potty breaks; damage to the RV can get expensive. However, if you can find the time to rent an RV for a long road trip, you can actually see a lot of the country, travel on a budget, and bring your favorite furry travel buddy.

Traveling again will be wonderful. If you’re ready to get on the road with your favorite travel buddy, plan ahead to make sure that you avoid any extreme temperatures. In the event that you have vehicle trouble, you want to make sure that you and your pet aren’t exposed to extreme temperatures while you wait for help
