A Taste of Home: A Cooking Anthology is an all-ages collection of comics, and the first anthology by a new grassroots publisher, Level Ground Comics! We started as a bunch of students looking to create opportunities to publish, edit, and create comics for people early in their career. Our goal is to level the playing field between beginner artists and professionals and help new creators break into the industry. The result of this collaborative effort is our first anthology, which brings you “A Taste of Home” in all sorts of settings, from fantasy, to slice-of-life, to myth, to autobio!

In addition to providing paid opportunities to up-and-coming artists, Level Ground Comics was founded to give young editors experience.  What is home? What tastes and smells and experiences conjure up these wistful thoughts? The familiar relationship between family, memory, and food is universal, yet unique to each person; so we asked 16 artists to explore what “A Taste of Home” means to them!

The book features 16 up-and-coming creators and 16 stories spread across over 64 black and white pages, each story being 4 pages, wrapped together in a compact 8.5×5.5 inch softcover book.

As of April 7th, this project has raised $7,000 of their $6,000 goal. This project has 21 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $5, you will get a PDF of the book.  For a pledge of $10, you will get one book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/levelgroundcomics/a-taste-of-home-a-cooking-anthology?
