Sunday Discussion: Inside The $215,000 Oscar Gift Bag For 2020

Tonight is Oscar night.  And the nominees for the major awards get a very expensive gift bag.  Every year during the Academy Awards, a company called Distinctive Assets puts together the “Everyone Wins” nominee gift bags that are given to the nominees in the major categories including best actor, best actress, best supporting actor, best supporting actress, and best director.

These gift bags are not affiliated with the Oscars or the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Whether the actors and directors win the Oscar or not, they have the option to claim the entire bag, a few pieces, or nothing from the bag.

Some of the nominees for the 92nd Oscars include Leonardo DiCaprio, Joaquin Phoenix, Cynthia Erivo, Saoirse Ronan, Antonio Banderas, Charlize Theron, Renée Zellweger, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Al Pacino, Laura Dern, Florence Pugh, Margot Robbie, Quentin Tarantino, Bong Joon Ho, Sam Mendes, and Martin Scorsese. Distinctive Assets values the 2020 gift bags to about $215,000 this year and includes a variety of items from lifestyle and skincare products to luxurious vacation vouchers.
