On April 26, 1991, a massive F5 tornado tore across Kansas, growing more violent with every passing second. Its path led directly toward McConnell Air Force Base, home to nuclear-armed bombers, creating a terrifying close call with the potential for a national catastrophe.

For 81 minutes, the storm devastated everything in its path. At the Golden Spur Mobile Home Park, 205 of 244 homes were completely destroyed, while entire communities were left in ruins.
