Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at:  https://geekalabama.com/media-kit-pr/geek-alabama-crowdsourcing-guidelines

Climate change is making wildfires more extreme and more frequent across the globe. You are part of an international firefighting unit, stationed at your firehouse with your crew, ready to respond at any moment.

Your first deployment takes you to the South of France, near Marseille, but this is only the beginning of your journey.

In our immersive campaign mode, guiding you through increasingly complex and intense wildfire operations.

All missions can be played solo or in a squad of up to 4 players, with dynamic balancing based on your team size. Completing missions unlocks new operations, each introducing unique objectives, terrain, and tactical challenges.

The current playtest missions are set in Southern France, but more destinations will arrive throughout Early Access and beyond. We’ve heard firefighters from around the world who want to see their own countries represented, and expanding internationally will allow us to introduce new vehicles, equipment, uniforms, and firefighting approaches inspired by real-world practices.

Fire is never predictable. Powered by a procedural simulation system, flames spread realistically depending on vegetation, wind, terrain, and weather conditions. No two wildfires evolve the same way, forcing you to constantly adapt your strategy.

But fire isn’t your only threat. Smoke can intoxicate you if you stay exposed for too long. You’ll need to manage your positioning carefully and use your safety mask to avoid collapsing.

Your vehicle is also vulnerable. Flames can damage it, rough terrain can weaken it, and reckless driving can destroy it. Protect your truck, and maybe don’t let that one friend drive.

Use authentic firefighting tools and vehicles, developed with the support of real firefighters. From chainsaws to carrying frames, your equipment is inspired by what professionals use in the field. Use them to tackle key wildfire tasks, from controlled burns to tree felling and fireline creation.

There is a wide variety of wildfire vehicles used around the world, and we aim to progressively expand that diversity. Our first vehicle is a French “CCFM” (Camion-Citerne Feux de Forêt), a 14-ton fire engine widely used in France. Equipped with a 4,000-liter water tank, nearly 300 horsepower, and all-wheel drive, it is built to handle extreme terrain and deliver water where it matters most.

Wildfires are unpredictable, and sometimes overwhelming. When the situation escalates, you’ll need to make fast tactical decisions. Through your map interface, you can request aerial and ground support to reinforce the front line or secure a critical area.

Call in water bombers to drop water or fire retardant over advancing flames. Deploy helicopters for rapid insertion or extraction. Running low on resources? Ask for a water delivery before the situation spirals out of control.

Two languages will be available during development: English and French.

As of April 4th, this project has raised $28,400 of their $34,561 goal. This project has 3 days left to raise the $34,561 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $35, you will get one copy of the game.  For a pledge of $47, you will get one game copy plus cosmetic pack.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1556468747/rescue-ops-wildfire-a-co-op-firefighting-simulation-game?
