Welcome to Disability Awesome. Each week, this post will feature a person or persons with mental and / or physical disabilities who are doing awesome things! As someone with an disability, I love it when others when disabilities do great things!
What does it mean to celebrate the spectrum?
For some, it’s when the story shifts from survival to thriving.
For others, it’s removing barriers, finding belonging, or creating spaces where people can truly be themselves.
This World Autism Day, we asked members of Autism Ontario’s Board of Directors what makes them celebrate the spectrum and what makes autism matter.
Their reflections are a reminder that inclusion is built through real experiences, shared voices, and a commitment to creating communities where autistic people and their families can thrive.
We hope you feel inspired by the messages shared and take a moment to reflect on what makes autism matter to you, and how you celebrate the spectrum.
