Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at:  https://geekalabama.com/media-kit-pr/geek-alabama-crowdsourcing-guidelines

The PHAETON mission sends 5,000 scientists, engineers, and technicians ten light years away to establish a permanent colony on a habitable planet discovered in the Epsilon Eridani system.

You are one of the survivors.

In Where There Are No Roads you play as a team of caravan drivers who brave the vast and hostile wilderness of the alien world of “Ingadi” to deliver critically needed supplies to the settlements struggling for survival in the scattered wreckage of your colony ship.

One by one these communities would wither and die without the caravans. But with your help, they can trade resources and build defenses against the ravages of Ingadi and, eventually, send a distress signal to Earth.

Make your Character, build your Vehicle, save some lives!

We use the Boundless System by Fari RPGs as the basis for this game.

When rolling dice, every 5 or 6 is a Hit. Everything else is a Miss.

When Players roll dice they will most often use a Dice Pool. These are usually derived from their Character’s Attributes but they may come from other sources as well. Players can increase their Dice Pools in a few ways, typically their abilities and gear.

Some Dice Pools can Drain to represent using up a limited resource, like ammo or endurance, or to mark the inevitable march of larger events, like complex projects or the weather. When these Dice Pools are rolled, the first two Misses are removed from the Pool and the remaining dice become the new value for that Dice Pool. When a Dice Pool is fully Drained it will trigger a change in the fiction — for good or ill! Some abilities and other conditions may limit or increase the number of dice that can be Drained from a single roll.

As of February 27th, this project has raised $2,300 of their $800 goal. This project has 14 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $7, you will get one PDF game.  For a pledge of $15, you will get one hardcopy game.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bclev/where-there-are-no-roads?
