Crowdsourcing Mornings: Crocodile Dance – An Africanfuturist Animated Film

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Bring Crocodile Dance to Life— A mythic Africanfuturist thriller about Roukia, a musical storyteller who confronts the Mami Wata, a monster-goddess tormenting her to save herself and her family.

This Kickstarter is the first vital step toward that feature, and your pledges will fund a polished 3-minute animation test. Indie animated features like this cost roughly $8 million USD to produce. We believe we’ll get there, but the journey starts here, with you.

Our vision is to produce as much of Crocodile Dance as possible on the African continent. We’re partnering with Lucan Animation in Cape Town to produce this animation test. By backing us now, you lay the foundation for the film. You prove there’s an audience hungry for its unique blend of African myth, science fiction, and horror.

As of November 28th, this project has raised $42,000 of their $70,000 goal. This project has 14 days left to raise the $70,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $10, you will get a digital wallpaper.  For a pledge of $20, you will get a film first look.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cokercoop/crocodile-dance-an-indie-africanfuturist-animated-film?
