Welcome to Disability Awesome. Each week, this post will feature a person or persons with mental and / or physical disabilities who are doing awesome things! As someone with an disability, I love it when others when disabilities do great things!
What if a disability wasn’t visible, yet still impacted every part of someone’s life? In this talk, Elizabeth Caldwell shares her journey with a dynamic, invisible disability and challenges the way we view ability and accessibility. Elizabeth Caldwell is a senior genetics major at Clemson and was named a 2024 Truman Scholar. She uses her personal experiences with a dynamic disability to drive innovation in the areas of physical and social accessibility, healthcare, policy, and rare disease research. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
