Chad Rivera, a 56-year-old skateboarder who also practices jiu-jitsu, has been legally blind for over 30 years due to a rare genetic disease but does not allow his disability to stop him from doing all the activities he enjoys. NBC News’ Gadi Schwartz, who spent the day with Rivera, attempted to drop into a halfpipe and received a lesson in martial arts.
