Aspie Reviews: The Overpriced, Too Expensive, Eye-Opening, Money Bags, Crumbl Cookies

Where I live, we had a new Crumbl Cookies open up.  Crumbl Cookies does gourmet cookies and claim they are the best cookies in the world.  The brand comes from Utah, and has been expanding rapidly ever since their first store was opened.  And now, they are in Oxford, Alabama at the Oxford Exchange.  I went around 7:30 pm Saturday evening, and there was still a line out the door.

Once I got inside, you saw the employees being very busy making a lot of cookies.

I got one of each of their flavors being offered that week.  That’s right, each week there are six new cookie flavors coming out.  The six flavors were milk chocolate chip, nilla bean cupcake, cinnamon frybread, molten lava, lemonade, and classic pink sugar which was sold out.

As you can see, the cookies are huge!  And they are a very big size.  The chocolate chip has plenty of chocolate chips, the cinnamon frybread was very good, the molten lava was gooey, and the others tasted good as well.

But here is the big issue with Crumbl Cookies, the prices.  Where I live here in Anniston, Alabama, which is next to Oxford, I live in a very low-income community.  I have seen numerous businesses open then close down for good because they charged too much.  People living here like myself do not have much income and will seek out the best value.

At the Oxford location, one cookie is $4.28!  And when you add-on the 10% sales tax, it means one cookie is almost $5!  I got the 6-pack box, and it was nearly $24.  $24 that could go to much needed groceries or needs instead.  After tasting the cookies, I do not find it’s worth $5 for one cookie.  I’m sorry to burst your cookie loving balloon here, but that is the truth!

I mean, I could go get a much cheaper cookie from a store bakery.  One cookie for nearly $5 is not worth it.  And I wonder after the opening glitz and glamour wears off, will Crumbl Cookies survive here, because this is a very low-income area, and I am sure many can not justify spending $5 for a cookie.
