Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

10 years ago, I originally published the first book of The Fallen King Chronicles. While it wasn’t the first book I had written, it was the first series I had delved into. The title for Dragonsphere came from a play on the words dragon fear. I was helping my wife watch little ones in a nursery when the idea for that first book sparked into my mind.

One of the kids was playing with a plastic toy that was shaped like a ball and had buttons all over it. When you pushed one of the buttons, a song would start playing. That’s when the idea hit me. What if there was something inside that toy, and playing the music kept it locked inside? And what if the thing trapped inside was a dragon? And that’s how The Fallen King Chronicles was born.

Since it’s the 10 year anniversary, I wanted to do something special, but instead of doing something for just the first book, I decided to do something for the entire series.

This campaign is for a 4-in-1 hardback omnibus. The book size will be 6×9, with 700 pages of epic fantasy goodness! I’ve commissioned a brand new illustration for the dust jacket using a scene from the third book in the series, and the amazing artist Luciano Fleitas knocked it out of the park.

There are two versions available in the reward tiers, a standard blue cloth hardback with a dust jacket, and a navy blue leatherbound hardback with a dust jacket. The series can be summed up with the description below:

When gods are at war, humanity must fight.

Aramis, the crown prince of Oakvalor, is accused of murdering his father for the throne. To prove his innocence, he must find the real assassin, but there are powerful forces at work around him.

His quest reveals the source of the encroaching darkness and will lead him to the gates of Oakvalor’s greatest enemy.

The Fallen King Chronicles is a complete stand-alone epic fantasy quartet about dragons, epic battles, magic, and the wicked plots of a dark god.

As of July 5th, this project has raised $3,200 of their $500 goal. This project has 23 days left to raise as much as it can.
