Our Stories Carried Us Here: A Graphic Novel Anthology is bold and unconventional where we paired 10 storytellers and illustrators from the same linguistic, cultural, and regional backgrounds to create a unique blend between story and illustration.
Each contributor’s story average 15-20 pages.
Centers complex and difficult issues: the ways in which identities and bodies are marked by race, religion, and class, racial profiling, education inequality, systematic displacement and discrimmination, mental health, disability, activism, and more to reclaim the narrative that has so often been shaped by hate, fear, and xenophobia.
It’s engaging and accessible to young and adult readers, Our Stories Carried Us Here acts as a mirror and a light to connect us all with immigrant and refugee experiences that inspire both hope and empathy.
As of April 15th, this project has raised $25,400 of their $26,000 goal. This project has 2 days left to raise the $26,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $15, you will get one E-Book.
