Good News Fridays: Unless U Got Talent 2020

Welcome to Good News Fridays.  Each week, this post features something good, wholesome, positive, and overall something great.  We all need something good to read or watch on Fridays!

Before the COVID-19 pandemic took off, the folks from Unless U in Birmingham got to hold Unless U Got Talent 2020.

The students of Unless U brought down the house with their first-ever, “Unless U Got Talent” event. Students performed with local artists live on stage at the Historic Lyric Theatre to a packed house of nearly 700 people. The incredible audience raised $47,000 for Unless U’s new school!

The student body of Unless U opened the show with a sign language performance of I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me. Sixteen students, along with their professional mentors, performed acts in gymnastics, live art, hip hop, song and sign language, karate, magic, stepping, Italian song, comedy, and gospel.

Funds raised from the event went toward the Unless U Build Capital Campaign. The 1.6 million dollar Capital Campaign is for a new school building.  Unless U Got Talent 2021 is currently scheduled for August 2021, let’s hope they can actually do that event.  Enjoy the video below!
