E3 2018: The Best Video Game Releases Announced

At this year’s E3 expo, Sony announced 100 new games, and out of these new games, below is a list of the ‘best’ ones, or the best ones in our opinion. After all, when it comes to announcing which the ‘best’ games are, it’s highly subjective and it’s important to understand that.

Missed the E3 news?  There are plenty of sites that have reported on it fully, such as Gamenader, for instance. These sites can offer a more in-depth look at all 100 of the games announced by Sony for the next year.

Spider-Man, due to be released September 7th on PS4

Anyone who grew up playing the Spider-Man games will be hyped up for this release. This was the superhero game that shaped so many gamers’ childhoods, it may even have been the game that created such a passion for gaming, so for there to be a new version launched is hugely exciting.

This new Spider-Man will be ‘open world’ and won’t follow the comics or the movies, which means that makers of this game – Insomniac – have had the opportunity to get insanely creative with this game. The game will follow Mr. Parker who has been Spider-Man for a few years, with the opportunity to battle some amazing baddies.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider, due to be released September 14th for PC, PS4 and XBOX

Another beloved childhood franchise, the Tomb Raider game series has always been highly popular with gamers of all ages. However, it’s the Square Enix games that have offered the best contribution, due to their incredible storylines and sublime graphics. This new game is said to be the end of the trilogy of Square Enix Tomb Raider games.

Following Lara Croft as she travels deep through the South American jungle, as she fights off the ultimate bad guy, Trinity, and hunts for new marvels, this is set to be yet another amazing adventure. The game is said to be packed full of climbing, exploring and fighting, as Lara battles everything the jungle has to throw at her.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, due to be released October 5th, on PS4, XBOX and PC

With many gamers, the Assassin’s Creed games are a firm favorite, due to their captivating storylines and integrated plots. This new game, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is set in Ancient Greece, and this time there’s a twist – you can choose between being the male Alexios or the female Kassandra. A modern game enhancement for a modern world.

The storyline of this game is all about redemption. As a child, you are cast out from Sparta, there’s multiple choice questions where you can select different scenarios and play the game based on your choices, which is a great way to personalize the game. This game will include plenty of warfare and quests, and is set to be just as thrilling, if not more so, than the other Assassin’s Creed games.

There’s one thing that’s for sure, this year is sure to be an amazing year for gaming with all of these new games on the horizon!
