Crowdsourcing Mornings: PBS Kids Resource Boxes

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at: https://geekalabama.com/media-kit-pr/geek-alabama-crowdsourcing-guidelines/

PBS KIDS Resource Boxes are carefully designed by experienced educators to inform and inspire a diverse community of young scholars.  Pledge now and help PBS SoCal supply young learners with much-needed high-quality learning materials and teaching resources, like curriculum and technology.  All materials are aligned with early learning standards and are available in both English and Spanish.
Filled with quality PBS KIDS materials, these boxes are built around a tested curriculum in literacy, STEM and social-emotional development.

Together we can supply 30 classrooms in East Los Angeles with PBS KIDS Resource Boxes.  Each box is packed with resources for preschoolers, including the PBS KIDS Playtime Pad that comes pre-loaded with PBS KIDS educational games, video clips and songs! Each classroom will receive four different themed boxes.

PBS KIDS Resource Boxes include:

  • PBS KIDS Playtime Pad 7″ Kid Safe Tablet for sharing in the classroom (comes in the first box)
  • Video clips / episodes from featured PBS KIDS shows like Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood (Social-Emotional Learning), Peg + Cat (Math) and Cat in the Hat (Science/Engineering)
  • Teacher lesson plans
  • Classroom activities with materials
  • Take home activities
  • PBS LearningMedia sheets
  • PBS KIDS App Cards (cards that outline free apps parents can use to reinforce learning tied to classroom activities)

As of July 17th, this project has raised $3,000 of their $15,000 goal. This project has 14 days left to raise the $15,000 or it will not be funded.  For a pledge of $15, you will get a thank you postcard.  For a pledge of $25, you will get one gift bag.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pbssocal/pbs-kids-resource-boxes?
