Time for another edition of Alabamians On Reality Shows. And we have two brand new shows on TLC and Syfy featuring people in Alabama. Let’s find out about a low budget zombie movie and a preaching family being featured on TV!
Town Of The Living Dead
Jasper Alabama could be the next home of a Syfy original movie, the same network that brought us Sharknado. Several filmmakers are working on the low budget zombie flick “Thr33 Days Dead.” The folks from Jasper, Alabama are determined, once and for all, to complete their zombie movie, “Thr33 Days Dead”, which is now six long years in the making. Based on a town urban legend, their film centers on a group of friends trying to survive a zombie apocalypse in rural Alabama. The series will follow the intrepid and motley crew of amateur filmmakers as they struggle against every obstacle imaginable to get to a final cut of their film, which could be a movie on Syfy, if it is ever finished!
Enjoy the trailer to Thr33 Days Dead, being made by RLS Pictures.
The series will follow the filmmakers, as they try anything they can to finish the movie. You can expect weird scenes, and some comedy in between.. Judging by the reviews I have read, Town Of The Living Dead will be a cross of Duck Dynasty and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Over $25,000 has been sunk into this film, and I wonder if it will ever be finished, and aired on Syfy? Will Town Of The Living Dead making Jasper famous, or a laughing-stock? I guess we will find out! Town of the Living Dead airs on Tuesday nights at 9 pm Central on Syfy. Learn more at: http://www.syfy.com/townofthelivingdead

Preaching Alabama
Airing at the same exact time as Town of the Living Dead, TLC is bringing us Preaching Alabama. Preach. Pray. Love for all. That’s what the Speegle family advocates in their new TLC series starting this October. A family of unconventional preachers, the Speegles are leaving their life in Florida behind to open a brand new church in their hometown of Madison, Alabama, with a very ambitious goal in mind: spread love and acceptance no matter your background. Welcoming any and all members of society – even those that many churches have traditionally turned away – this family is determined to create an open-hearted non-denominational Christian church in the thick of the Bible Belt.
As you know, Alabama is in the heart of the Bible Belt. And many churches are kind of one sided, turning away folks who might not be “true Christians”, like people who practice homosexuality, people who think guns should be taken away, etc. The Speegles are confident that they can establish a spiritual home for those individuals in need of one. Called to serve God and others, this fun-loving family is ready to inject a lot of faith and freethinking into Northern Alabama. Judging by the reviews I have read, this is a family series focused on building a church in Alabama. Here is a preview video below!
