Music Thursdays: Geek Alabama’s Top Christmas Songs

Geek Alabama Music Thursdays

We are so close to Christmas!  I enjoy listening to Christmas songs each year.  Many radio stations are now playing Christmas songs in their rotations with some stations playing Christmas songs 24/7.  There are even internet stations playing Christmas songs all the time.  But which Christmas songs are my favorites and I enjoy listening too?  Here is a list of my top 10 Christmas songs!

Merry Christmas War Is Over – John Lennon

This is my favorite Christmas song.  Every year the world goes through a lot of bad things; and we can all hope one day war will be really over for good.  I really do like the kids singing in the background of this song.

Last Christmas – Wham!

I like this song because the video shows how you can enjoy Christmas together with friends and family at a ski resort.  Of course the sounds are great too.

Carol of the Bells – Trans-Siberian Orchestra

This is a great rocking Christmas song.  The special effects in this song are awesome.

All I Want For Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey

This is a great Christmas song that shows the importance of being together for Christmas.

Silent Night

The main reason for Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ.  This is the best song to represent that.

Sleigh Ride – Leroy Anderson

This song with no words tells all about Christmas in a great way without any singing.  And I love the horses.

Wonderful Christmas Time – Paul McCartney

I like this song because of the weird and wacky sounds in the song.  You all know those sounds I am talking about.

Let It Snow! – Dean Martin

I am a huge snow lover!  And when it is snowing outside.  It feels good to snuggle inside in front of a fire with some hot chocolate.

Feliz Navidad – Jose Feliciano

The Spanish words for Merry Christmas.  This is good song and the sounds and lyrics are great as well.

White Christmas – Bing Crosby

Another of the wishes of many is to have a white Christmas.  Sadly most of the country will not be white this Christmas.
