Crowdsourcing Mornings: The Space Between

Geek Alabama Crowdsourcing Mornings

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Amy Jo Johnson’s debut feature film about a proud new daddy who finds out his child is not his own.  So what is the film about?  When Mitch, a proud new father, discovers that his baby isn’t his, he leaves his small-town and sets out on a journey to find the baby’s true daddy. On the way he ends up falling for a young troubled woman who just escaped rehab.  Meanwhile, Jackie, the baby momma, reeling from her decision to take her pregnancy into her own hands, convinces her best friend to help her find Mitch and save their marriage. The journey they all take is a heartfelt, coming of age (a slightly older age) through backwoods burlesque festivals and small town churchyard larceny.

Filled with a hilarious and moving cast of supporting characters, The Space Between is a film about acceptance, family, love… and a few dirty diapers.  They are running a Indiegogo campaign to raise funds to finish the film.  They need $200,000 to finish the film, and the Indiegogo goal is $75,000.  They will seek grants and private funding for the rest of the funding.  Shooting of the film will start in Spring 2015 and finish by the end of the year.  They plan to show the film on the festival circuit in late 2016.
