2025 was an incredible year for weather, from crazy tornado outbreaks to record shattering hurricanes. But for me, the month of January was the spotlight. (Not counting auroras). There was the first winter storm that occurred in the early part of January, but it was the historic Gulf Coast Blizzard that took spotlight.

From January 20-22, a historic, record breaking blizzard took shape along the northern gulf coast of the United States. Records that had been set in stone for over a century, gone in an instant, in the states of Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida. Today I will be taking a deep dive into this system, and hopefully you all can share your fun stories in the comments yourself. Welcome, to Nature’s Fury.
