As you know, The Super Mario Bros. movie has set the box office record for the biggest opening weekend for an animated film, and is now on its way to becoming one of the highest grossing animated box office movies ever.
The folks from JustWatch have updated charts of the other most popular video game adaptation movies and shows of all time.
It’s not surprising that The Super Mario Bros. movie is performing well, as the movie adaptations of other cult classic games like Sonic the Hedgehog and Pokémon are some of the most popular of all time.
When it comes to TV shows, however, it is less family friendly – with darker, more violent games proving to be the most popular, making up 9 out of the top 10.
