While shooting their brand campaign “It Starts Here” in Nashville last summer, Fiverr learned local zip code 37208 has the highest incarceration rate in the US. To outsiders, it’s a stat that defines the neighborhood. To residents, it’s a community that’s been under attack for years.
We saw an opportunity to tell a more in-depth story about the people of 37208. Out North is a 15-minute documentary that focuses on Gideon’s Army, a grassroots organization, and local individuals working to protect their community from police brutality, gentrification, and the school-to-prison pipeline.
As we celebrate Black History Month, we hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch Out North.
