Let’s Finally Welcome Spider Man To The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Geeks and nerds rejoice!  As you know, Sony has owned Spider Man, even though it’s a Marvel property.  So, when you see a Marvel/Disney movie, you would never see Spider Man in the movie, because Sony had the rights to Spider Man.  But now, that has all changed, for good!  Yesterday, Marvel put out an announcement that everyone was waiting for.  Marvel and Sony have partnered to increase the popularity of Spider Man.  Under the deal, Spider Man will appear in an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, we don’t know which movie that will be just yet.  But would it be awesome if there was a Spider Man teaser in the upcoming Avengers 2 movie?

Also under the deal, Sony and Marvel will work together to see release the next installment of its $4 billion Spider-Man franchise in July 2017, in a film that will be co-produced by Kevin Feige/Marvel team and Amy Pascal, who oversaw the Marvel Studios launch 13 years ago. Together, they will collaborate on a new creative direction for the web slinger, about time!  Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films.  What this means, when the next Spider Man movie comes out, released by Sony, we might see another Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero in the Spider Man movie, awesome!

And it does not stop there!  While Spider Man is appearing in other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.  You will also see different Marvel Cinematic Universe characters in the Spider Man movies!  This is like peanut butter and jelly meeting up for the first time on a sandwich, you will enjoy eating, or seeing it, more and more!  With the announcement, it will also most likely mean a new person will be wearing the Spider Man spandex, sorry  Andrew Garfield.  I am thinking you will see Spider Man in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie in 2016.  I mean, it would fit in nicely, since Spider Man is so integral to that plot.

And I wonder if Sony had no choice but to do this, since they are losing money because The Amazing Spider Man 2 did horrible at the box office, and the whole Sony Hacking with The Interview made Sony desperate to make revenue?  This deal is a great win for Marvel, a bigger win for Sony, and a humongous win for the geeks and nerds!  Sony will get some great directions from Marvel, we will get to see Spider Man in a Marvel/Disney movie, and all of us geeks and nerds will just drool over the great movies!  It’s a dream come true for the geeks and nerds!  Now, how long before Disney can get the X-Men?

To wrap this post up, here is the Black Nerd talking about this news, he is excited as I am!
