“Paige loves art. She has been steeped in it her whole life. Her mother is a children’s book illustrator, her grandfather was an artist, and she dabbles with storytelling. She lives and breathes charcoal and ink. She loves the way drawings and stories seem to jump off the pages. Art makes things feel real to her. Art makes her feel less alone.
But when a mysterious drawing transports her from her family’s vacation spot to a strange forest full of talking animals, Paige realizes that art may be far more powerful than she could have imagined before. She learns she must journey with a brave mouse named Fritz out of the safety of the forest and across plains full of monsters to the Great Wizard’s Tower if she ever hopes to return home.
But the journey is not for the faint of heart, and this new world holds secrets that will change both of their lives forever.”
Page Magic is a 35,000 word, clean middle-grade fantasy geared at children ages 10-13, but designed so that anyone can enjoy it. Think Studio Ghibli meets Pixar. The story is full of whimsy and fun, while still tackling important discussions like family, loss, and identity.
