Slothee Still Wants Coffee is the second of the Slothee and Friends books. These books will guide children, and adults alike, through worldly adventures, learning about different cultures, and making friends. Future books will include more coffee and tea explorations, world adventures, and more.
In Slothee Still Wants Coffee, Slothee travels from Costa Rica to Peru, Mexico, Jamaica, Uganda, Vietnam, and Australia in search of the perfect cup of coffee. On the way, he meets new friends and learns about coffee and culture. Will Slothee find the best cup of coffee? Read this book to join him on an educational, yet fun adventure!
After traveling domestically and internationally, the inspiration behind ‘Slothee Still Wants Coffee’ comes from the love of exploration (and coffee)! My goal is to set my son up for success and allow him to experience new surroundings. Slothee and Slothee’s mom represent that relationship and desire to encourage learning through discovery.
On a trip to Costa Rica, we fell in love with sloths, seeing them in the rainforests and watching their slow, yet smooth movements. It is our spirit animal! After taking a coffee (and chocolate) tour, we learned that there is much more than just brewing a cup of coffee. From bean to your cup, it is a process. We wanted to bring that process to life and add fun facts in the book that kids can understand and relate to.
Creating our first book together, ‘Slothee Wants Coffee’, was a bonding experience. Not only did we brainstorm, write, and see our creation come to life, but Cam became business-savvy at farmer’s markets and events. Going to school during the week and selling books each weekend became a way of life, and Cameron learned so much week over week. During downtimes, we would brainstorm and write out future books, which led us to ‘Slothee Still Wants Coffee’.
Throughout this book, we hope to encourage children and parents to explore cultures outside of the norm. Not only will you meet Slothee’s friends, but you will learn about coffee and traditions. Travel virtually to different countries with Slothee!
