Crowdsourcing Mornings: Prosthesis: Mech Racing | Alpha Mech Pilot Program

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at: https://geekalabama.com/media-kit-pr/geek-alabama-crowdsourcing-guidelines

Fourteen years ago our team had a grand vision for a global racing league that would pit multiple world-class athletes in head-to-head competitions, through complex, technical obstacle courses, wearing giant, powered mech suits. The technology did not exist. The sport did not exist. Many thought it was impossible. Our team, however, was determined to bring this dream to life!

It didn’t happen overnight! For more than a decade, we’ve been building a community and gathering knowledge in the pursuit of this dream. Through perseverance, and with the generous support of a small army of volunteers, students and sponsors, we were able to complete our flagship prototype mech in 2017. This mech was called Prosthesis: The Anti-Robot and its creation marked the dawn of the era of the sports mech.

It took more than 3 years of grueling field trials, equal parts engineering and pilot training, to get this machine to where it is today. And today, we can proudly say we’ve created a fully functional giant, all-terrain mech suit.

A sport, however, requires more than just technology. True sport is born of the innate human drive to master a physical skill. With the technology now in place, we are in a unique position to be able to offer you, our future fans and athletes, the rare opportunity to strap in and pilot the mech yourself by joining our pioneering team as we embark on the next phase of our plan — creating the sport.

We call this the Alpha Mech Pilot Program (AMP).

Through this crowdfunding campaign, we are offering one-on-one mech pilot training, live mech demos and exclusive Alpha Mech Pilot merchandise. No matter which reward you choose, you will be playing a pivotal role in helping us take the next step towards creating a full-blown mech racing league, while taking your place in the history books as one of the Alpha Team members.

As of September 21st, this project has raised $54,000 of their $22,718 goal. This project has 10 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $4, you will get project updates.  For a pledge of $16, you will get one patch.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/furrionexobionics/alpha-mech-pilot-program?
