SORRY ABOUT THE MESS is a punk rock adult animated comedy fantasy series written by and starring award-winning Australian trans comedian Cassie Workman, with executive producer Lilly Wachowski. The series is produced by Princess Pictures.
SORRY ABOUT THE MESS follows trans trainwreck Alice Peril, a punk rock singer in Olympia, Washington, navigating a world-ending supernatural threat along with a badly timed break up, using more wit than the situation probably deserves…
But this isn’t just another series waiting around for buyer permission. On June 15, during Pride Month, we’ll officially launch the Kickstarter campaign for SORRY ABOUT THE MESS. The Kickstarter campaign will directly fund the pilot episode, planned for online release in 2027. The fundraiser will help create a creator-first animated series for audiences who rarely get to see themselves authentically reflected in adult animation.
“SORRY ABOUT THE MESS is a loud, angry, bold, brave, and unapologetic battle cry from a unique storyteller,” said Mike Cowap, producer and co-founder of Princess’s animation studio. “We don’t want to wait for permission from traditional buyers to make this show. Our hope is that enough people see the timely importance of the themes here, and support Cassie to make it happen.”
As of June 17th, this project has raised $18,000 of their $42,370 goal. This project has 27 days left to raise the $42,370 or it will not be funded.
