Navigating relationships as an autistic person in a neurotypical world can be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be.

Joe Biel and Dr. Faith Harper are taking one of their most popular zines, Autism Relationships Handbook, and turning it into a full-length book (with a companion workbook).

Whatever your gender, sexuality, interests, or amount of experience, this book will help you find, strengthen, and maintain the human connections that you need.

Ever since he came  out as autistic, people have been contacting Microcosm’s publisher Joe Biel to share their stories  and ask questions. The most common question by far: how do I find a romantic partner?

Joe teams up here with Dr. Faith G. Harper, bestselling author of Unfuck Your Brain and Unfuck Your Intimacy, who is also a relationships therapist with loads of experience working with neurodivergent clients.

The Autism Relationships Handbook offers practical, real advice about friendships, dating, sex, romance, and long term relationships. The authors, who are longtime friends, help you figure out the answers to questions like: What do you want out of a relationship? What is the  difference between flirting and harassment? How do you have a fun date and get to know someone when eye contact and prolonged conversation  aren’t your strengths? How can you navigate sensory issues during sex? How do you ask someone out? How do you make sure your relationship isn’t abusive? How do you express your needs and make sure you’re  hearing your partner when they express theirs? How do you maintain a  healthy, happy long term relationship?

Autistic readers will find  valuable answers and perspectives in this book, whether you’re just  getting ready to jump into dating, seeking to forge closer friendships,  or looking to improve your existing partnership or marriage.

As of December 23rd, this project has raised $3,300 of their $8,000 goal. This project has 22 days left to raise the $8,000 or it will not be funded.  For a pledge of $10, you will get one eBook.  For a pledge of $22, you will get one book and workbook.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/microcosmpublishing/autism-relationships-handbook?
