For years now, people living or passing through the Wellington area have been demanding a traffic light be installed at the intersection of US Highway 431 and AL Highway 204 / Peeks Hill Road. There was even a petition that had over 1,000 signatures demanding a light. Well, everyone’s wishes have come true!
ALDOT is in the process of installing and then activating a traffic light at this intersection. Crews have been busy installing turn lanes, and this week crews installed the traffic lights and turned them onto flash mode. Give it about another week, and the traffic lights will be fully activated. Those who have to dodge speeding traffic while crossing US 431 will be relieved for good.
With all the wrecks that have happened at this intersection, you can see a lot of parts from cars who have wrecked at the intersection, having a traffic light here was a no brainer. Below are pictures from the intersection, enjoy!
