Halloween ComicFest This Weekend

Advertisements

This weekend (October 26-27) is Halloween Comicfest.  This event is run by the same folks who do Free Comic Book Day.  Did you know that your local comic book specialty shop is a great destination for the latest Halloween and horror pop-culture products and merchandise?  Sure, they have comics and graphic novels. But many comic shops also have costumes, toys and more!  This weekend, many comic shops across the country will have Halloween events planned to celebrate Halloween ComicFest!

Participating comic book shops will be giving away free comic books that are either Halloween or horror themed for this all ages event.  The free comic titles include Ultimate Spider-Man, Batman, Itty Bitty Hellboy, Sonic Lost World, Cartoon Network, My Little Pony and more!  And many participating comic book shops will also have costumed characters, prizes, and other fun things for the entire family!

In the Birmingham Metro, Kingdom Comics in Vestavia Hills will be hosting a Halloween ComicFest event on Saturday October 26th starting at 10 am.  There will be plenty of people in costumes and the Alabama Ghostbusters will be there.  There will be artists doing plenty of artwork.  And Kingdom Comics will be handing out plenty of free candy, prizes, and free comic books!  Learn more about this event at: https://www.facebook.com/kingdom.comics

Halloween ComicFest is also doing a nationwide costume contest and the only way you can enter this contest is by visiting a participating comic book shop.  To participate in the contest, grab a special button at a local comic book shop and take a picture of you wearing the costume with the button attached.  Then upload to their website at: http://www.halloweencomicfest.com/Home/1/1/78/1146.  The winners will get some awesome merchandise from some geeky companies!

In NE Alabama, Dragon Quills in Gadsden and The Crossroads Comics and Games in Oxford are participating in Halloween ComicFest.  To learn more about Halloween ComicFest, go to: http://www.halloweencomicfest.com.  Follow them on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/halloweencomicfests and on Twitter @halloweencomic.
