21 years ago, Hurricane Katrina made landfall along the Gulf Coast. Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama were devastated by the most catastrophic natural disaster in modern American history. But nowhere would the consequences be more profound than in New Orleans.
What happened over the following days was far more than a hurricane. As the city’s flood protection system failed, tens of thousands of people found themselves trapped in a rapidly unfolding humanitarian catastrophe.
In this documentary, we will cover everything from the hurricane’s formation, to its landfall, to the historic flooding, as well as the chaos and desperate rescue operations that followed.
