An Alabama Song (Volume 1) is the first book from artist Tara Stallworth Lee that draws from a larger body of work spanning photography, textiles, sculpture, and collage. This inaugural volume features select images of music figures and venues whose voices and vision have contributed to the sound and culture that is uniquely Alabama; each a notable component of a larger, interconnected record of place.
With your support, the launch of Volume 1 will expand the reach of An Alabama Song and help grow a lasting archive that preserves and amplifies a cross-section of Alabama’s rich and robust musical legacy.
In addition to the limited edition book, other reward tiers include signed prints, framed prints, a papermaking workshop, and an elaborate tapestry inspired by Sun Ra.
As of April 13th, this project has raised $3,300 of their $9,500 goal. This project has 24 days left to raise the $9,500 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $70, you will get one book.
