Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Here comes our fifth children’s book – and this one’s a bit different!

Meet Sophie, a clever little girl who lives in an attic, right by the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Sophie is a clever, curious girl living in a tiny Paris attic by the Eiffel Tower. When she notices a dramatic problem on the tower, she doesn’t wait for someone else to fix it. She climbs the stairs, investigates, and saves the day with her own quick thinking.

She is a brave, curious, capable girl who reminds us that even the biggest problems can be solved by one person with the courage to try.

For the first time, this book isn’t about an animal, it’s about a little girl called Sophie.

And the book is written in a whole new style, with a fresh new rhyme scheme. The rhythm was inspired by the great Australian poet Banjo Paterson, with a flow that fit perfectly for a Paris story (written by an Australian).

This book follows the runaway successes of 2020’s Kylie the Crocodile, 2021’s Roger the Liger, 2022’s Grace The Giraffe, and 2024’s The Animal Games.

This book is set in real Paris, inside a real landmark. It’s a story about competence, courage, and quiet cleverness, where the hero doesn’t wait to be told what to do.

The first four children’s books by The Gees have been permanent fixtures in the English-language bookshops of Paris, a few of the French ones, and the city’s biggest museums including the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay.

As of February 2nd, this project has raised $28,000 of their $11,853 goal. This project has 4 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $24, you will get one hardback book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/theearfultower/sophie-in-paris?
